Investment Banking Institute recognises that all students are unique and have different learning styles, interests and needs.

At IBI, our open learning policy provides students with flexibility about when and how they wish to complete their studies. We do not have rigid semesters or strict completion dates but rather encourage our students to complete their assessments in their own time using a delivery mode that best suits their individual needs.

Financial Planning Courses

Financial Planning Courses are open entry enabling a broad range of individual to access the opportunity to enter the exciting and financially rewarding Financial Services Industry. We provide a flexible learning environment and encourage our students to work through work through their studies either
i) one course (ie. Financial Advice, Risk Management, Investments, Superannuation) at a time or
ii) to enrol in the full Diploma at once.

Our Financial Planning Courses have the following delivery modes available

1. Face-to-Face (Intensive) Workshops;
2. Distance Education (Self Study); or
3. Any combination of the above.

Students can use any combination of the above delivery modes to allow for changing circumstances such as a change in location, and work or family commitments.

Corporate Finance and Investment Banking Programs

Corporate Finance and Investment Banking Programs are only available to students that have successfully completed the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning). This provides students with the opportunity to enter the prestigious and financially rewarding corporate finance and Investment Banking environment. These programs can only be undertaken through Intensive Workshop classes dues to the complexity of the course content.

More importantly, it provides students with the opportunity to gain invaluable insight and first-hand perspective from our Trainers who are industry leaders in their fields.

Classroom Workshops- Face to Face (Instructor Led)

If you prefer a more structure learning environment where you can discuss ideas and concepts with people from a range of backgrounds whilst completing your studies in a accelerated manner then our Intensive Workshops may be best for you.

Workshops are conducted by our experienced Trainers who have hands-on industry experience. Workshops enhance the learning experience through the creation of an exciting, interactive classroom setting that reinforces and shares the skills, knowledge and attitudes amongst each workshop participants.

Study periods are flexible with Workshops being run continuously throughout the year in the main capital cities.

If you are new to the Financial Services Industry Workshops provide an effective way to fast-track your understanding of the core issues facing the industry and how best to deal with real world issues.

Workshops are restricted to small numbers so our Trainers can provide individual attention when students require it. An important part of the learning experience is hearing the opinions and views of the other participants. Trainers strongly encourage all students to actively participate in class discussions and contribute their thoughts and to value and respect the opinion of others.

Pre-reading of all learning materials is essential and compulsory prior to attendance to our Workshops.

Distance – Self Paced

Our Distance Education learning option provides students with the ultimate flexibility. Courses can be commenced at anytime and students can complete assessments at their own pace. Our self-paced distance education programs are ideal if you are:

  • remotely located,
  • a new entrant to the industry and would like to take time with your study, or
  • unable to take time off work.

Although students do not have access to a dynamic, interactive learning experience as is the case with Workshop, students can use our Student Support Services which includes access to our Distance Education Team.

Our Distance Education Team is made up of industry professionals and they can be contacted by fax, email or telephone during business hours, Monday to Friday. Roleplay via webcam using Skype platform

 

Distance Learning students have the option of performing their roleplay assessment via webcam using the Skype platform. Please follow the instructions below:

  • Install the latest version of Skype (http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windows);
  • You will also need a webcam and headset (if you don’t have a headset you can use the in-built speakers and microphone on your computer);
  • Your webcam will normally come with an installation disc. Just pop the disc in your computer, before plugging the webcam in, and follow the on-screen instructions;
  • Once you’re ready to plug in your webcam. Find the USB port on your computer;
  • Launch Skype and create a Skype user name
  • Search and add “ibi_training” in your Skype contact list
  • Skype IBI on a pre-arranged time to conduct your role-play via a video-link
