IBI’s Diploma in Financial Planning - (FNS50611) - is listed on ASIC Training Register.  Our Diploma course satisfies ASIC RG146 Tier 1 Financial Product  generic and specialist knowledge and skills requirements to provide financial advice (general & personal) in financial planning, life insurance, securities, managed investment schemes, derivatives and superannuation.

ASIC's nine skills requirements

ASIC requires financial advisers to have the necessary advisory skills to carry out their role competently and ASIC under RG146 outlines the nine skill elements required for establishing relationships with clients and providing appropriate financial advice, that include:

  • establish relationship with client
  • identifying client objectives, needs and financial situation
  • analysing client objectives, needs, financial situation and risk profile
  • develop appropriate strategies and solutions
  • present appropriate strategies and solutions
  • negotiate financial plan, policy or transaction with client
  • coordinate implementation of agreed plan, policy or transaction
  • complete and maintain necessary documentation
  • provide ongoing service

All Investment Banking Institute’s courses are listed on the ASIC Training Register as having been approved by ASIC authorised assessors as meeting ASIC’s training requirements in relation to ASIC Policy Statement 146 (now RG 146).

 

Investment Banking Institute’s ASIC Registered courses qualify you to deliver general advice or personal advice in your selected specialist financial product area.

 

If you intend to inform clients about a product without making a recommendation select a general advice course.

 

If you intend to inform clients about a product taking a clients personal situation into account then select a personal advice course.
